Job description

  • Develop and maintain full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Python, and REST APIs.
  • Build end-to-end features spanning user interfaces, backend services, and data integrations.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to surface data and model outputs effectively.
  • Own the design, development, testing, and deployment of assigned features.

Functional Prototyping

  • Develop functional prototypes to validate product concepts and user requirements.
  • Rapidly iterate on solutions based on stakeholder and end-user feedback.
  • Translate ideas into working applications that demonstrate business value.
  • Support early-stage experimentation and proof-of-concept development.

Component Library Contribution

  • Contribute reusable components to a shared enterprise component library.
  • Follow established development standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Create documentation and unit tests to support component adoption and maintainability.
  • Promote consistency and reusability across applications and products.

Design Collaboration

  • Partner with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and designs into production-ready solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews, user feedback sessions, and product discussions.
  • Identify technical considerations and implementation constraints early in the design process.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive user experiences.

Backend Services & Data Integration

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and API layers supporting intelligence products.
  • Build and manage APIs, data contracts, integrations, and service interactions.
  • Integrate applications with data pipelines, analytics platforms, and model outputs.
  • Ensure reliable, scalable, and accurate data delivery to user-facing applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration, API, and data-related issues in collaboration with platform and data engineering teams

Requirements

  • Proficiency in React with experience building web applications through academic, personal, internship, or professional projects.
  • Strong Python development skills, including building backend services, REST APIs, and data-processing solutions.
  • Experience with TypeScript and/or strong JavaScript fundamentals, including type safety concepts and modern development practices.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, including joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions.
  • Ability to translate wireframes and UX designs into high-quality, responsive front-end applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Preferred · Experience delivering end-to-end projects, capstones, or applications used by real users.
  • Internship or professional experience contributing to production software in a product or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with Figma and collaborating with design teams to implement user experiences.
  • Experience building prototypes, internal tools, or data applications using Streamlit or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of Storybook, component libraries, and front-end documentation practices.
  • Experience developing backend services using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. · Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with relational or non-relational databases.
  • Experience working with design systems, reusable component frameworks, and UI consistency standards.

Tech Stack & Skillset Core Front-End

  • React: components, hooks, props, state - able to build from scratch without a tutorial open
  • TypeScript / JavaScript: type annotations, async patterns, browser fundamentals
  • CSS: layout, responsive design, basic animation - comfort translating a design into code
  • Testing: unit tests with Jest or equivalent; understanding of why tests exist, not just how to write them

Design & Prototyping

  • Figma: able to read and navigate design files; bonus if you have created or annotated them
  • Streamlit: rapid prototyping of data-backed surfaces and internal tooling
  • Storybook: component documentation and isolated development (familiarity sufficient)

Backend & Data

  • Python: FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent for building REST APIs and backend services
  • SQL: SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, window functions, subqueries - comfortable querying a data warehouse independently
  • REST API design: data contracts, request/response handling, error patterns
  • Basic data pipeline awareness: able to read and understand how data flows from source to surface

Tooling & Environment

  • Git: branching, pull requests, code review workflow in a team environment
  • Cloud familiarity: GCP, AWS, or Azure at a working or student level
  • CI/CD basics: able to run tests, read a build pipeline, and understand deployment concepts, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Analysis Skills, Animation, Application Programming Interface (API), Best Practices, CSS (Cascading Style Sheet), Cloud Computing, Code Reviews, Communication Skills, Component Frameworks, Continuous Deployment/Delivery, Continuous Integration, Cross-Functional, Customer/Client Research, Data Management, Data Modeling, Data Science, Data Warehousing, Documentation, Error Handling, Functional Testing, GCP (Good Clinical Practices), Git, Identify Issues, Internet Application, JavaScript, Legal, Loan Funding, Machine Tool, Microsoft Windows Azure, Problem Solving Skills, Product Engineering, Product Support, Proof of Concept, Prototyping, Python Programming/Scripting Language, REST (Representational State Transfer), Rapid Prototyping, React.js, Relational Databases (RDBMS), SQL (Structured Query Language), Sales Pipeline, Student Loans, Surface Modeling, Team Player, Test Plan/Schedule, Testing, Unit Test, User Experience Design (UXD), User Interface Design, User Interface/Experience (UI/UX), Web Browsers, Wireframes
