SYSTEMS DEVELOPER - High Performance Trading InfrastructureLondon - Hybrid100,000-150,000 + bonusQuant Capital is recruiting on behalf of a leading global quant investment firm seeking a Systems Developer to join its high-impact technology group in London. This role is part of a core engineering team focused on building and maintaining the backbone infrastructure supporting high-performance trading and large-scale research.In this hands-on role, you will gain significant exposure to distributed systems, high-throughput computing, and low-latency infrastructure. You’ll work on complex technical challenges that directly influence the firm’s ability to process data and execute strategies at scale.Role ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the core systems engineering team, you will:Design, develop, and maintain large-scale compute and storage systems used across trading and research functionsWork on the architecture and implementation of distributed workload scheduling, fleet orchestration

and performance tuning across a large server estateBuild internal tools for managing system performance, reliability, and software lifecycles (SDLC)Tackle performance bottlenecks across kernel, file system, and network layers to support low-latency, high-throughput applicationsContribute to infrastructure monitoring, data collection pipelines, and real-time analyticsCollaborate across teams to align system design with evolving trading and research requirementsSkills and Experience:A strong interest in how systems work under the hood, paired with a practical, engineering-first mindsetDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience (up to 5 years)Solid programming ability in one or more of the following: Python, Golang, Rust, or similarExperience with Linux-based environments and knowledge of networking fundamentals is highly desirableExcellent communication skills and ability to operate in a collaborative, high-performance environmentStrong organizational and time-management capabilitiesCuriosity, initiative, and the ability to take ownership of complex problems matter more than specific prior industry experienceWhy Apply?This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technically rigorous environment where your work has real impact on performance and results.
