Guild Care are seeking an Experienced Senior IT Support Technician to play a key role in the delivery, support and continual improvement of Guild Care’s IT services across multiple sites.
This is an onsite role working from our Head Office based in central Worthing and across Guild Care locations when required. You will need to be a driver with access to a car. (This role is not available as a remote working position).
As a senior member of the IT team, you will act as a technical escalation point for;
- Complex issues
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to colleagues
- Support the IT Manager in maintaining and developing Guild Care’s technology estate.
This is a varied role covering Microsoft 365, infrastructure, networking, telephony, cyber security and IT projects.
You will play an important role in the development and continual improvement of Guild Care’s IT services through involvement in strategic projects, technology improvements, service development and security initiatives.
This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional looking to take ownership of technical challenges, influence service improvements and work across a diverse technology estate.

- Acting as the senior technical escalation point for complex incidents, problems and service requests.
- Supporting the delivery, reliability and security of Guild Care’s IT infrastructure and business systems.
- Providing mentoring and support to colleagues within the IT team.
- Supporting the planning, implementation and delivery of IT projects, upgrades and migrations.
- Maintaining and improving Microsoft 365, networking, server, endpoint and telephony platforms.
- Supporting IT security controls, investigations and incident response activities.
- Supporting service management processes and helping drive improvements in service quality and colleague experience.
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation, procedures and standards.
- Delivering training and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.
- Working closely with third-party suppliers and technical partners to deliver effective solutions and support., You are an experienced IT professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, supporting colleagues and improving services. You are comfortable taking ownership of technical challenges and have the confidence to make recommendations, mentor others and contribute to strategic IT initiatives. You communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, from frontline teams through to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a senior IT support, infrastructure or technical specialist role.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft technologies, hardware, software, networking and cloud services.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, Entra ID and endpoint management technologies.
- Experience supporting server and network infrastructure within a business environment.
- A good understanding of cyber security principles and best practices.
- Experience leading technical investigations and coordinating problem resolution.
- The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Experience producing technical documentation, procedures and knowledge base content.
- The ability to mentor and support less experienced colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Guild Care locations when required.
Whilst this role is primarily based during office hours, it is essential that you are able to work evenings and weekends, sometimes at short notice, to carry out maintenance and project work that minimises disruption to our services., * Do you have 2-3 years experience in a senior IT support role?
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networks, servers, Microsoft 365, telephony systems and end-user devices?
- Car driver with access to a car?
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical colleagues?
Desired criteria
- Relevant IT qualification or professional certification, such as Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+, or a relevant vendor-specific networking, server, telephony or security certification?
- Experience working in a multi-site organisation or care, charity, public sector or regulated environment?
