Job description
We are seeking an experienced UAT Test Manager to join a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation and migration programme for a major public sector organisation. This is a high-profile role requiring an experienced test professional who can operate confidently at senior stakeholder level, lead business users through a complex UAT programme, and manage multiple third-party suppliers and vendors. You will take ownership of the UAT strategy and delivery across the programme, ensuring the organisation is fully prepared to validate the new SAP S/4HANA solution and transition successfully into business-as-usual operations., * Own and lead the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy, planning and execution across the SAP S/4HANA transformation and migration programme.
- Develop and maintain the UAT approach, including scope, entry/exit criteria, test cycles, environments, data requirements, resources and governance.
- Lead and coordinate UAT activities across multiple business functions and stakeholder groups.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, business leaders and subject matter experts to define business acceptance criteria and ensure appropriate test coverage.
- Manage and coordinate large groups of business users through UAT, ensuring they are appropriately prepared, supported and engaged.
- Establish effective test governance, reporting, defect management and escalation processes.
- Provide clear and concise reporting on UAT progress, risks, issues, defects, dependencies and readiness to senior programme leadership.
- Manage relationships with third-party implementation partners, testing suppliers and technology vendors, ensuring contractual and programme testing commitments are delivered.
- Challenge vendor test strategies, plans and results where necessary, ensuring appropriate quality and evidence of testing.
- Coordinate defect triage and resolution across business users, SAP teams, technical teams and third-party suppliers.
- Ensure critical business processes and end-to-end scenarios are adequately tested across the SAP S/4HANA solution.
- Work closely with the wider Programme, PMO, Change, Data, Technical and Business teams to ensure UAT is aligned with the overall transformation plan.
- Support cutover and go-live readiness by providing clear assessments of UAT completion and business acceptance.
- Identify and proactively manage testing risks, dependencies and resource constraints.
- Ensure appropriate test evidence, documentation and audit trails are maintained in line with public sector governance requirements.
- Lead UAT readiness and go-live decision-making forums where required.
Requirements
You will be an experienced UAT/Test Manager with a strong track record of delivering business-led testing within complex transformation programmes. You will be comfortable operating in a highly stakeholder-focused environment and able to build credibility with senior leaders, business users, technology teams and external suppliers. Essential Experience
- Significant experience working as a UAT Test Manager / Test Manager on large-scale transformation programmes.
- Proven experience managing UAT across complex, business-critical programmes.
- Strong experience working with senior stakeholders and business users, including senior leadership and functional representatives.
- Proven experience managing third-party vendors, systems integrators and testing partners.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business process testing and acceptance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience managing test teams, business testers and distributed testing communities.
- Strong knowledge of defect management, test governance, reporting and risk management.
- Experience working within complex, highly governed organisations.
- Ability to operate effectively in a large programme environment with multiple workstreams and competing prioritie
Desirable
- Previous experience within the public sector or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or transformation programmes.
- Experience with SAP business processes such as Finance, Procurement, HR, Supply Chain or related functions.
- Experience supporting cutover, deployment and go-live readiness.
- ISTQB, ISEB or equivalent testing qualification.
- Experience working with structured programme governance and formal assurance processes.
