Web Application / DevOps Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Application / DevOps Architect to lead application architecture, middleware strategy, and DevOps enablement for digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing scalable web applications, distributed messaging systems, API platforms, data-routing layers, and containerized environments.

This role focuses primarily on application and platform architecture rather than basic cloud administration. The architect will act as the technical bridge between application development and infrastructure teams, ensuring modern application architectures are tightly integrated with DevOps automation and engineering best practices., * Design modular, scalable web application architectures using microservices, event-driven architecture, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).

• Architect and manage enterprise middleware including Kafka, RabbitMQ, API Gateways, ESBs, and data distribution platforms.
• Build containerized local development environments and automated testing frameworks to improve developer productivity and DevEx.
• Define and govern API architecture, cross-service communication, API versioning, security, and performance standards.
• Design distributed caching, session management, database connection pooling, and state-management strategies.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to build robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Support automated builds, integration testing, deployment automation, and blue-green deployment strategies.
• Optimize containerized applications running on Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design and implement service-mesh architectures using technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Establish architectural standards, technical guidelines, and reusable patterns across application platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex application, middleware, integration, and performance issues.

• Strong expertise in backend/full-stack development using one or more of:

• Node.js
• Java / Spring Boot
• Go
• Python / FastAPI

Advanced experience with messaging and event-streaming technologies:

• Apache Kafka
• RabbitMQ
• AWS EventBridge

Strong hands-on experience with API management and reverse proxies:

• Kong
• Apigee
• NGINX
• Envoy

Expert knowledge of distributed caching/data-grid technologies:

• Redis
• Memcached
• Hazelcast

Master-level experience with:

• Docker
• Kubernetes

Experience optimizing container lifecycle, orchestration, networking, and service-to-service communication.

Hands-on experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.

Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, deployment automation, and DevOps practices.
