Job description

As a Senior IT Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, networking, virtualization, storage, backup, and security platforms. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable IT services while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in cybersecurity, cloud services, and enterprise networking. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide engineering support for servers, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backup platforms, endpoint services, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support and troubleshoot enterprise networking including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, segmentation, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including identity management, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure networking, monitoring, cloud infrastructure, and security controls.
  • Support Microsoft Copilot and other AI platforms through administration, governance, user enablement, security, adoption, data protection, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor SIEM and security platforms to identify suspicious activity, reduce risk, and escalate potential security incidents.
  • Assist with the identification, analysis, containment, documentation, and resolution of cybersecurity incidents.
  • Support vulnerability management efforts across Windows, Linux, networking equipment, IoT devices, cloud services, and enterprise infrastructure while contributing to security improvements and operational best practices.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation including configuration changes, network diagrams, security investigations, remediation activities, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to strengthen infrastructure reliability and organizational security.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues while providing guidance and technical support to Service Desk personnel.
  • Participate in a 24x7 support environment as required.

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to join a high-performing IT team responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and modern technology solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled infrastructure professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across on-premises and cloud technologies while helping drive innovation through Microsoft technologies and AI., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Five or more years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, cybersecurity operations, or related technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and a strong interest in Microsoft Copilot administration, governance, security, adoption, and user enablement.
  • Experience supporting Azure services including Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, Azure networking, monitoring, security controls, and cloud administration.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewall technologies, wireless networking, and enterprise troubleshooting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop, and Linux operating systems including hardening, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with vulnerability management platforms, endpoint security solutions, SIEM technologies, Microsoft Defender, or similar security tools preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Passion for continuous learning across cybersecurity, Microsoft cloud technologies, AI, networking, and systems engineering.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Copilot.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel, or Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience with Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, VPN gateways, virtual networks, network security groups, and cloud monitoring.
  • Experience administering firewalls, SD-WAN, routing, switching, wireless networking, WAN optimization, or network segmentation.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation, reporting, and enterprise systems administration.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator certification.
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator certification.
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent certifications or practical experience.
