  • The successful candidate will lead and mentor a team of UI developers while remaining hands-on throughout the full software development lifecycle
  • This role requires strong front-end architecture and development experience, the ability to translate UX/UI designs into accessible production-ready interfaces, and the technical breadth to contribute to backend services, APIs, data stores, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines as needed

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of UI/front-end developers, providing technical direction, coding standards, design guidance, and code review
  • Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions using modern web frameworks and reusable component patterns
  • Translate UX/UI prototypes, wireframes, and design specifications into functional, responsive, and accessible production interfaces
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software based on documented system and user requirements
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design, interface, functional, and performance requirements
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs and ensure efficient data flow between front-end and back-end systems
  • Contribute to full-stack development as required, including backend services, databases, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines
  • Review and test software components for adherence to design and functional requirements and document test results
  • Debug existing software, resolve software problem reports, and correct defects
  • Establish and enforce front-end coding standards, best practices, and component reuse
  • Partner with UX/UI designers, systems engineers, product stakeholders, and mission customers to ensure design intent and mission requirements are preserved through implementation
  • Identify and resolve application performance bottlenecks, cross-browser compatibility issues, and technical debt
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical estimation, architectural reviews, and other Agile ceremonies
  • Support integration of existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments
  • Develop or implement algorithms needed to meet system functional and performance standards
  • Provide technical input regarding hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and use of COTS/GOTS solutions in place of new development
  • Perform requirements analysis and decomposition from system-level requirements to individual software components
  • Ensure developed interfaces comply with applicable accessibility requirements, including Section 508 and WCAG standards
  • Write and maintain software, system, interface, and technical documentation, * Ansible and/or Salt

Requirements

  • Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical field
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to software development teams
  • Strong proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
  • Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience designing front-end architectures and reusable component frameworks
  • Experience translating UX/UI designs into responsive, accessible, production-ready applications
  • Full-stack software development experience, including integration with backend services and APIs
  • Backend development experience using technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Java
  • Experience designing and integrating APIs and data flows between front-end and backend systems
  • Experience reviewing, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting complex software components
  • Experience working throughout the software development lifecycle in an Agile environment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills

Benefits & conditions

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
