Job description

Tesla vehicles get better through software long after they leave the factory. Turning that into a sustained advantage means thousands of engineers must be able to take new ideas through build, test, and packaging without the underlying systems becoming a bottleneck. When those shared systems slow down or grow unreliable, the entire organization loses momentum and the rate of real-world improvement drops. The Build Infrastructure team exists to keep that from happening by running a high-availability distributed compute platform across large clusters of machines. In this role you’ll design and optimize the platform, schedulers, and frameworks that determine how efficiently every workload runs-directly shaping how quickly new capabilities reach the road and how rapidly the software behind autonomy can advance. What You’ll Do

  • Work on building a distributed compute system, running code on hundreds of bare metal & cloud servers
  • Make code more efficient to run, optimizing resources across the cluster, and speeding up the compute workloads we face

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Excellent knowledge of any modern programming language (Golang, C++, Python, Rust, Ruby, etc.)
  • Strong Linux knowledge
  • Experience with distributedcomputesystems (k8s,Slurm, LSF, etc.) or distributed architectures
  • Knowledge of messaging services (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, etc.)

Benefits & conditions

Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:

  • Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction
  • Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits
  • Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution
  • Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits
  • Company paid Basic Life, AD&D
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays
  • Back-up childcare and parenting support resources
  • Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance
  • Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs
  • Tesla Babies program
  • Commuter benefits
  • Employee discounts and perks program

Expected Compensation $172,000 - $312,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
