Job description

Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. Designs and conducts research including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results., The lab’s primary location is the Richmond Field Station in the East Bay. We are part of the Northern California Center of Occupational and Environmental Health and have a team of approximately 20 students and staff at any given time. Our program prepares students from engineering, public health, and medicine in human factors and ergonomics, with a focus on understanding the relationship between biomechanical exposures and injuries and on reducing injuries through prevention-through-design strategies., Identify the functions or tasks that employees in the job perform. , (To be completed by Supervisor) 10 Conducts statistical studies in support of research proposals and protocols. 10 Maintains and develops research gathering, retrieval and reporting systems. 10 Plans studies, including the design of survey instruments and determining the sampling and reporting procedures. 10 Collaborates on the design, documentation, testing and implementation of research studies. 10 Prepares reports and / or analyses for internal department constituents. 10 May be involved in researching, evaluating and selecting new data reporting products. 10 Assists in developing systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report trends. 15 Gathers and analyzes research data; prepares and summarizes information and / or recommendations. 10 Independently plans limited studies or assists higher level Analysts in large, complex studies. 5 Other duties as assigned 0 100% (To update total %, enter the amount of time in whole numbers (without the % symbol - e.g., 15, 20) then highlight the total sum (e.g., 1%) at the bottom of the column and press F9. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and one or more years or relevant experience and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Acquiring knowledge of research function. Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties.
  • Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures.
  • Working skills in analysis and consultation.
  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
  • Working skills in the appropriate use of technology and relevant software and scientific equipment as required (i.e., python)
  • Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and vulnerable populations.
  • Experience using SmartSheets or other project management software.
  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Experience working in Epic (or similar EHR system).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related area
