Job description
We’re seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Asset Specialist to oversee to join an established IT organization and be responsible for IT asset management, software licensing, vendor relationships, and technology procurement. In this highly visible role, you’ll collaborate with employees, department leaders, and technology vendors to ensure the organization has the right technology, at the right time.
Success in this position requires more than operational excellence. We’re looking for someone who takes a consultative approach when engaging with users and stakeholders, helping them identify business needs, evaluate technology options, and make informed purchasing decisions that align with organizational goals.
What You’ll Be Doing
? Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and software licenses
? Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and department leaders by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate technology solutions
? Coordinate procurement of hardware, software, subscriptions, and technology services
? Manage software licensing renewals, compliance, audits, and vendor relationships
? Review and coordinate vendor contracts, service agreements, quotes, and renewals
? Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to forecast technology needs and support budgeting activities
? Track inventory, asset assignments, warranty information, and replacement schedules
? Research and evaluate new technologies, products, and vendors to support business objectives
? Identify cost-saving opportunities and opportunities to standardize technology across the organization
? Maintain procurement, asset management, and vendor documentation

Requirements
Experience managing IT assets, software licensing, procurement, or technology vendor relationships
Ability to take a consultative, business-focused approach when meeting with users, leaders, and stakeholders
Strong understanding of software licensing, technology contracts, and vendor management
Experience negotiating pricing, renewals, and service agreements
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into business-friendly recommendations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) platforms
Experience managing Microsoft 365 licensing
Familiarity with ERP, procurement, inventory, or ticketing systems
Experience supporting budgeting and technology forecasting
Knowledge of IT hardware lifecycle management
