Senior GIS Technician - Planning & Development

The Planning and Development Department (PDD) Senior Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician is responsible for producing high-quality maps and maintaining GIS datasets that support planning and permitting workflows. Typical duties include producing a variety of mapping products, performing spatial analysis, maintaining permit related datasets, interpreting legal descriptions, and assisting with simple automation tasks using ArcGIS Online (AGOL), ModelBuilder, or basic scripting. Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and experience supporting internal and external customers is desired.

• OR Two years at a technical or vocational school.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record. The Planning and Development Department (PDD) is a city department of over 500 employees across five main Divisions: Business & Strategy, Planning, Historic Preservation, Plan Review, and Inspections.
