Job description

We are looking for a Data Analyst this role will be based at: N1 1RU, - 1 day a week in the office, 4 days a week remote

The right candidate will:

  1. Identify appropriate ways to collect, collate, clean and prepare data for analysis
  • Assess data quality and independently prepare data for analysis
  • Apply basic data analysis and synthesis techniques
  • Identify effective methods for data collection and preparation, and present clear, actionable findings for colleagues.
  1. Utilise the most appropriate/effective data visualisation and report narratives to craft compelling stories that are relevant to business goals/objectives including through use of software including Power BI, Excel
  • Effectively communicate data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and relevance.
  • Proactively monitor data systems, identifying trends and address data-related issues in a timely manner.
  1. Adhere to organisational data governance policies including those policies governing data access, sharing, dissemination and protection
  2. Support or lead data management activities across services and products using appropriate procedures, tools and methodologies

Requirements

  • Experience in managing and analysing datasets, cleaning data, and preparing it for analysis, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail in data handling and reporting.
  • Experience working in the public sector and a good understanding of local government field, such as Children’s Services, Housing, Adult Social Care, Environment, Public Health.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other statistical software and business intelligence tools such as Power BI

I am currently representing Islington Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience
