Job description

We’re seeking a Principal UX Designer to join our Field Delivery team to own and evolve the end-to-end Progress Tracking workflow across mobile, web, and emerging agentic interfaces used in the construction field. This is a highly strategic individual contributor role focused on defining the long-term vision, experience architecture, and design quality for one of our most critical field workflows.

You will shape how construction teams capture, understand, and act on project progress in dynamic, real-world environments.

As a principal-level designer, you will operate with high autonomy, partnering closely with product, engineering, and research leadership to align on strategy, define durable experience frameworks, and elevate the craft and systems thinking of the broader team. Curiosity and excitement about exploring new interaction models, including agentic experiences, are essential, as are design details and willingness to be ā€œin the weedsā€.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the long-term experience vision for the Progress Tracking workflow across mobile, web, and agentic surfaces
  • Own the end-to-end experience strategy for progress tracking, ensuring usability, scalability, data clarity, and workflow efficiency in complex field environments
  • Lead design work from discovery through implementation, setting a high bar for craft, clarity, and execution quality
  • Influence product roadmap and prioritization by identifying opportunity areas, workflow gaps, and systemic user challenges within progress tracking
  • Partner closely with product managers, engineering leads, and researchers to align on direction, drive informed tradeoffs, and ensure feasibility without compromising experience quality
  • Guide and elevate design quality through critique, mentorship, and establishing best practices for workflow-driven and field-based experiences
  • Create compelling artifacts including journey maps, system models, prototypes, and vision concepts to align stakeholders and drive clarity in decision-making
  • Represent design in cross-functional and leadership discussions, clearly articulating vision, tradeoffs, and measurable user impact

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional UX or product design experience, with demonstrated impact leading complex, workflow-heavy product areas
  • Strong portfolio showcasing ownership of end-to-end experiences for mobile and web products, including complex operational or data-driven workflows
  • Proven ability to define experience strategy and influence product direction beyond feature-level design
  • Deep expertise in translating complex user needs and business requirements into scalable, intuitive interaction models
  • Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional and leadership stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and drive alignment in fast-paced, collaborative environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing enterprise or workflow-heavy SaaS products
  • Experience designing for construction tech, field-based, operational, or mobile-first users
  • Experience designing agentic or AI-assisted interaction models
  • Experience shaping or contributing to design systems that support complex workflows
  • Experience mentoring designers and elevating design standards within a team
