Data plays an increasingly important role in how we understand complex problems, generate insights, and support better decisions for our clients.
We’re looking for a curious and motivated Data Scientist to join our growing Data + Analytics team. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, scientists, and data specialists while building your skills on meaningful projects that make a difference.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Data Scientist, you’ll help transform data into valuable insights that support projects across infrastructure, environment, natural hazards, water, transport, and more.
You’ll have opportunities to:
- Analyse, clean, and transform large and complex datasets
- Develop data pipelines and workflows to support project delivery
- Apply data science, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques to real-world problems
- Create visualisations and dashboards that help tell compelling stories through data
- Work alongside engineers, scientists, and digital specialists on multidisciplinary projects
- Explore emerging technologies and innovative ways to solve client challenges
- Contribute to the development of tools, automation, and best practices across the business
No two days will be the same, and you’ll gain exposure to a diverse range of projects and industries.
Requirements
- 3-5 plus years of experience in a similar role
- A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Experience using Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from others
- Naturally curious, enjoy solving problems, and using data to create positive change.
- Great attention to detail and a proactive approach to your work
Experience with machine learning, computer vision, cloud platforms, or data engineering concepts would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
