Job description

The Student Assistant will support IT Services as a Student Field Technician on the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2026., * Prepares and installs lab and staff computers

  • Decommissions end-of-life devices
  • Collaborates with team on projects
  • Installs software and hardware accessories
  • Manages asset inventory
  • Creates and maintains documentation
  • Troubleshoots Tier 1 issues
  • Provides technical assistance and training to faculty and staff for software and hardware issues
  • Assists with AV installs and maintenance

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 25 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Requirements

  • Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position

KNOWLEDGE

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University’s mission for student success, * Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills, Legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the University.

Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation., Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate or three or more graduate level credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
