Job description

As a Core Technical Architect, you are a pre-sales, customer-facing expert. You apply broad technical skills, Software & Hardware/Semiconductor Manufacturing industry knowledge, and business acumen to help sales teams align Salesforce solutions with our customers’ digital transformation and cloud adoption strategies. You are an important early player in deal cycles to correctly match our solutions to customer challenges, as well as middle of the sales cycle, to support POCs, build rapid technical prototypes, and lead deep dives into our AI, Data, and core cloud products.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in business strategy, multi-cloud application architecture, data management, integration, security, and AI.
  • Use a consultative approach to understand business requirements and map them to modern IT capabilities.
  • Determine optimal technologies to leverage in customer-driven architectures based on product knowledge, developer tooling, and industry standards.
  • Lead discussions around change programs and enterprise technical governance from both a business and IT perspective.
  • Develop repeatable propositions and go-to-market strategies for sales teams.

The Future You’ll Build

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with some or all of the following skills, which are critical for designing modern, AI-powered solutions across Salesforce’s enterprise domain portfolio:
  • Agentic AI & Agentforce: Direct experience developing and managing agentic AI frameworks, autonomous agents, and grounded enterprise workflows.
  • Prompt Engineering & GenAI Architecture: a working understanding of MCP gateways, LLM gateways, LLM trust boundaries, and data pipelines.
  • Data Cloud, MDM & Data Governance: familiarity with Salesforce Data360 for unifying and activating customer data, as well as Informatica and Mulesoft, including foundational knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM), data lineage, metadata management, and data quality frameworks, and API management, API gateways, API directories, and monitoring
  • Cross-Domain Architecture: Capability to design holistic solutions spanning core CRM (Sales & Service Cloud), Analytics (Tableau / CRM Analytics), and Marketing Activation (B2B / B2C).
  • Logic, Flow, & Event Orchestration: Advanced proficiency with Salesforce Flow and event-driven architectures for complex, real-time, AI-driven business processes. IDE, Apex, LWC skills recommended.

What You’ll Bring Technical Proficiency

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications, delivery, and end-to-end system architecture.
  • Coding experience and willingness to build occasional hands-on POCs and prototypes (Apex, Node, Python, Java, LWC, web components, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of modern database fundamentals, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data management tools.
  • Competence in modern enterprise integration patterns, including REST/GraphQL APIs, event streams (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Webhooks), and middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft).
  • Proficiency with software development, developer tooling, and modern application lifecycle management (Git, test automation, CI/CD, DevOps, release management).
  • Grounded understanding of modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and how enterprise IT teams deploy hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Solid grasp of network, application, identity/access management (IAM/SSO), and information security principles.

Strategic & Soft Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM field, or equivalent experience.
  • Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills across both business executive audiences and technical IT/Developer leads.
  • Strategic problem-solving, thought leadership, and effective time management for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Hands-on experience in customer-facing architect, pre-sales, or technical consultant roles, including leading live technical demos and architecture reviews.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery, compliance and risk mitigation, or data lineage tooling.
  • Graduate study or proven experience in a relevant technical or business area.

In the United States, compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, job level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $148,190 - $231,980 annually There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC
