Job description

As we continue to grow and expand our product offerings, we are seeking a talented and motivated Embedded Software Engineer to join our exceptional team. As an Embedded Software Engineer at Visual Productions BV, you will play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of our embedded systems. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with cross-functional teams to create reliable, efficient, and high-performance firmware that powers our innovative products. You will work closely with hardware engineers, firmware developers, and other software engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement embedded software for our lighting controllers
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements and specifications
  • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code for various embedded platforms
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software to ensure quality and reliability
  • Optimize system performance and memory usage to meet stringent requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the embedded domain
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality
  • Work closely with the tech-support team to support software testing and resolve any issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in embedded software development

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably C/C++ & ARM-Cortex
  • Solid understanding of microcontrollers, microprocessors, and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Experience with hardware-software integration and debugging
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc
  • Knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces and peripherals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., GIT) and Agile development methodologies is a plus
  • Proficient in English (Dutch is not required)
  • Living in the Netherlands or within the EU and willing to relocate
