Job description
We are seeking a Technical Lead to oversee the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of a cloud-based market submission platform. This individual will lead a small team of developers, drive technical decision-making, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure successful delivery of business-critical initiatives. While the role remains technical, the primary focus is leadership, mentorship, solution design, and project ownership rather than day-to-day coding.
Day-to-Day:
- Lead technical delivery of a strategic cloud application initiative
- Guide and mentor a team of 3-5 developers, providing technical direction and coaching
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize work, and manage expectations
- Own technical design decisions, architecture discussions, and development best practices
- Remove roadblocks and ensure project milestones are delivered on schedule
- Participate in coding, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving as needed
- Support AWS cloud architecture, application deployments, and production stability
- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards across the team
- Coordinate releases, testing efforts, and deployment activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across development processes and tooling
Pay Rate starts at $50/hr
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience with progressive leadership responsibilities
- Proven experience leading software development projects from requirements through deployment
- Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching teams of 3-5+ developers
- Strong ability to partner with business stakeholders, manage commitments, and drive execution
- Hands-on experience with .NET / C# application development
- Experience building and supporting cloud-native applications within AWS
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- Strong understanding of application architecture, system integrations, and SDLC best practices
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Production support, troubleshooting, and incident management experience
- Experience conducting code reviews and establishing development standards
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML, and CSS experience
- PostgreSQL database design and optimization experience
- AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, IAM, and CloudWatch
- CI/CD pipeline automation using GitHub Actions or similar tools
- Infrastructure as Code experience using AWS CDK
- Experience modernizing legacy applications
- AI/ML platform exposure or experience supporting AI-enabled products
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, Devin, etc.
- Energy, utilities, trading, scheduling, or operational systems experience
