Job description

  • Operate, Secure & Optimize Network Infrastructure - Configure, install, maintain, and optimize network and telecommunications infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptographic devices, VoIP, VTC, POTS, and VSAT satellite communications systems. Monitor accredited environments, analyze traffic and TCP performance, minimize latency, maximize throughput, and help ensure the required security and operational posture is maintained.\n
  • Troubleshoot Complex Network & Telecommunications Challenges - Lead investigation, diagnostics, and resolution of complex network incidents and performance issues. Analyze system logs, traffic characteristics, connectivity, transmission speeds, packet behavior, and throughput; identify root causes and develop, test, document, and implement solutions and workarounds. Assess and apply patches, updates, configuration changes, backup procedures, and corrective actions using approved methods and procedures.\n
  • Provide Technical Leadership & Mission Integration - Partner with systems engineers, cybersecurity professionals, external Network Operations Centers (NOCs), telecommunications providers, and cross-organizational teams to translate mission requirements into effective technical solutions. Maintain network diagrams and configuration documentation, support Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements, and provide technical leadership and guidance to Level 0-2 Network Engineers, validating their work and ensuring approved engineering methods and procedures are followed.\n, * Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Network Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.\n

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of experience in Network Engineering disciplines may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.\n
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and ability to work full-time on site in a secure mission environment.\n
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification in an applicable networking discipline, or an equivalent certification approved by the program.\n
  • Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex network and telecommunications environments, including routing protocols, BGP, policy-based routing, tunneling, IPsec, NAT, WAN technologies, traffic management, and network performance analysis.\n
  • Experience configuring, testing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise network and security infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptographic devices, and related network technologies.\n
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and telecommunications problems, develop and document technical solutions, and provide technical guidance and leadership to junior and mid-level Network Engineers.\n, * Hands-on experience configuring, administering, troubleshooting, and optimizing Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security policies, NAT, routing, logging, and traffic analysis.\n
  • Experience with VoIP, Video Teleconferencing (VTC), POTS, and/or VSAT TDMA IP-based satellite communications systems.\n
  • Experience performing advanced TCP/IP and network performance analysis, including troubleshooting latency, throughput, packet flow, and end-to-end network performance.\n
  • Experience supporting accredited network environments, including configuration management, security compliance, and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) activities.\n
  • Experience introducing, evaluating, and integrating new network and telecommunications technologies into complex operational environments.\n

Benefits & conditions

This is an opportunity to apply deep network engineering expertise to complex, mission-critical environments-from designing and optimizing secure networks to deploying communications capabilities, troubleshooting complex problems, integrating emerging technologies, and guiding other network engineers.\n \n You’ll work alongside systems engineers, cybersecurity professionals, technical teams, and mission partners to ensure network and telecommunications capabilities are secure, resilient, optimized, and ready to perform when the mission demands it.\n \n This is a full-time, on-site position in a secure mission environment. Due to the nature of the work and security requirements, remote work is not available for this position.\n \n If you’re an experienced network engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems and wants to see your expertise translate directly into mission capability, we’d like to talk.\n \n \nWhat You’ll Do\n \n As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll provide senior-level engineering expertise across the network and telecommunications lifecycle-from architecture and design through integration, deployment, operations, optimization, and sustainment.\n \n \n

  • Design, Engineer & Deploy Mission Networks - Design, build, integrate, test, document, and deploy secure network and telecommunications solutions supporting complex mission requirements. Engineer solutions incorporating routing protocols, BGP, policy-based routing, traffic shaping, tunneling, IPsec, NAT, firewall contexts, load balancing, WAN acceleration, and network monitoring, while integrating new technologies as mission needs evolve.\n, At Leidos, you’ll work alongside talented technical and mission professionals solving complex challenges where cybersecurity is fundamental to mission success.\n \n You’ll have opportunities to continue developing your expertise while contributing to consequential national-security work and connecting with the breadth of technical capabilities and career opportunities across Leidos.\n \n Eligible employees have access to a competitive benefits package that includes:\n \n \n

  • Paid Time Off\n
  • 11 paid holidays\n
  • 401(k) with a 6% company match and immediate vesting\n
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan\n
  • Technical upskilling and professional-development opportunities\n
  • Education and training support\n
  • Paid parental leave\n
  • Additional health, wellness, and employee benefits\n

\n \nReady to Make an Impact?\n \n At Leidos, the opportunities are boundless. We challenge our staff with interesting assignments that allow them to thrive professionally and personally. For us, helping you grow your career is good business. We look forward to learning more about you - apply today\n \n If you’re looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
