Join us and make a difference., We seek a Principal Engineer to serve as the foremost expert within our engineering organization, driving technological excellence and innovation across multiple teams. The Principal Engineer will be instrumental in shaping strategic decisions, guiding technical direction, and ensuring the integration of advanced engineering practices. This role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms like Azure and GCP and proficiency in microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical mastery, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to mentor teams, resolve complex technical challenges, and champion best practices in software development. This position demands extensive knowledge of current technologies and anticipates future trends to keep our engineering practices ahead of the curve. The Principal Engineer will collaborate closely with other senior leaders to align technological developments with the organization’s long-term goals., * Architectural Leadership: Designing and overseeing the implementation of microservices architectures, ensuring scalability, resilience, and alignment with business goals.
- Technical Expertise: Serving as a technical authority and resource for teams, providing guidance and mentorship to engineers at all levels.
- Innovation and Strategy: Leading the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies and practices that drive innovation and improve our competitive edge.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with product management, operations, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Code Quality Assurance: Ensuring high standards of code quality through rigorous code reviews and adherence to best practices in software development.
- Process Improvement: Identify and drive initiatives to enhance development processes, tooling, and methodologies, fostering a culture of excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing software, with
- 6+ years of experience with modern object-oriented languages (C#, greaty preferred)
- 3+ years as a technical lead / senior software engineer guiding a team
-
4+ years working in cloud environments (Azure is greatly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Microsoft AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals Certification (if certification is not current, must be obtained within the first 60 days of start date)
- AI-200 Certification: Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate Certification (if certification is not current, must be obtained within first 6 months of start date)
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED
- AZ-400 (Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert), AZ-305 (Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions), and possibly other advanced certifications related to architecture and security
IN OFFICE REQUIREMENT:
Relias values collaboration and wants to ensure that our team members have opportuniites to work with their managers regularly for professional development opportunities. This role requires that you live in the state of North Carolina, within a commutable distance to our office. You would be expected to work in our Morrisville, NC Headquarters approximately 30 days/quarter.
