Job description

We are seeking an experienced Blue Yonder TMS Functional Consultant to support transportation management implementation, enhancement, configuration, and production operations. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, transportation/logistics teams, technical teams, and offshore delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable Blue Yonder TMS solutions.

Blue Yonder TMS covers transportation planning, optimization, load building, execution, carrier management, visibility, procurement, and freight settlement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead functional analysis, configuration, implementation and enhancement of Blue Yonder Transportation Management solutions.

Gather requirements from transportation, logistics, supply-chain and business stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications.

Configure and support transportation planning, optimization, shipment execution, tendering, routing, carrier management and freight settlement.

Work on transportation modeling, rates, lanes, calendars, equipment, locations, carriers and routing guides.

Support load planning, consolidation, multi-stop/multi-leg shipments and transportation optimization.

Configure and troubleshoot auto-tendering, carrier selection, shipment lifecycle and exception-management processes.

Work with integration teams on interfaces between Blue Yonder TMS and ERP, WMS, OMS, carrier and external logistics systems.

Participate in functional testing, SIT, UAT, defect resolution, production deployment and post-production support.

Analyze transportation processes and recommend improvements to cost, service levels, utilization and operational efficiency.

Create functional specifications, process flows, configuration documents, test scenarios and user documentation.

Collaborate with technical teams on APIs, integrations, data mapping and external-system connectivity.

Provide Tier-2/Tier-3 functional support and perform root-cause analysis for production issues.

Coordinate with offshore/global development teams and manage deliverables across multiple workstreams.

Participate in Blue Yonder upgrades/releases and evaluate impacts of new TMS functionality.

Support business users and provide training on new functionality and process changes.

Requirements

Blue Yonder TMS / Transportation Manager

Strong functional/configuration experience

Transportation planning and execution

Transportation optimization

Load building and consolidation

Carrier management and tendering

Routing guides and rate management

Freight settlement / audit

Shipment lifecycle management

Transportation modeling

Exception management

Functional requirements & documentation

SIT / UAT / production support

ERP/WMS/TMS integration experience

Strong SQL/data analysis skills preferred

Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills

Blue Yonder’s current TMS capabilities include transportation modeling, procurement, optimization/planning, load building, transportation management and network connectivity.

Preferred Experience:

Blue Yonder TMS implementation or upgrade experience

Experience with JDA Transportation Management / legacy JDA TMS

Experience in retail, CPG, manufacturing, semiconductor, logistics or distribution

Experience integrating TMS with SAP, Oracle, WMS or OMS

Experience with cloud-based Blue Yonder implementations

Experience supporting large-scale transportation networks

Knowledge of multimodal transportation: TL, LTL, parcel, rail and ocean

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology

Candidate Must-Haves

Must have:

Hands-on Blue Yonder TMS functional experience

Strong transportation/logistics domain knowledge

Configuration and implementation experience

Excellent requirements-gathering skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management

Willingness to work 5 days onsite

Ability to work from Santa Clara, CA OR Austin, TX

Not a fit: Candidates with only generic supply-chain consulting experience but no hands-on Blue Yonder TMS experience., The ideal candidate is a Blue Yonder TMS Functional SME who can independently interact with business stakeholders, understand transportation processes, configure the TMS, troubleshoot functional issues, coordinate with technical/integration teams, and drive requirements through UAT and production
