Job description

We are seeking a Technical Lead to oversee the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of a cloud-based market submission platform. This individual will lead a small team of developers, drive technical decision-making, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure successful delivery of business-critical initiatives. While the role remains technical, the primary focus is leadership, mentorship, solution design, and project ownership rather than day-to-day coding.

Day-to-Day:

  • Lead technical delivery of a strategic cloud application initiative

  • Guide and mentor a team of 3-5 developers, providing technical direction and coaching

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize work, and manage expectations

  • Own technical design decisions, architecture discussions, and development best practices

  • Remove roadblocks and ensure project milestones are delivered on schedule

  • Participate in coding, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving as needed

  • Support AWS cloud architecture, application deployments, and production stability

  • Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards across the team

  • Coordinate releases, testing efforts, and deployment activities

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across development processes and tooling

Pay Rate starts at $50/hr

Requirements

8+ years of software development experience with progressive leadership responsibilities

  • Proven experience leading software development projects from requirements through deployment

  • Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching teams of 3-5+ developers

  • Strong ability to partner with business stakeholders, manage commitments, and drive execution

  • Hands-on experience with .NET / C# application development

  • Experience building and supporting cloud-native applications within AWS

  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs

  • Strong understanding of application architecture, system integrations, and SDLC best practices

  • Experience working within Agile development environments

  • Production support, troubleshooting, and incident management experience

  • Experience conducting code reviews and establishing development standards - Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML, and CSS experience

  • PostgreSQL database design and optimization experience

  • AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, IAM, and CloudWatch

  • CI/CD pipeline automation using GitHub Actions or similar tools

  • Infrastructure as Code experience using AWS CDK

  • Experience modernizing legacy applications

  • AI/ML platform exposure or experience supporting AI-enabled products

  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, Devin, etc.

  • Energy, utilities, trading, scheduling, or operational systems experience
