Job description

We are seeking an experienced IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) engineer for a 3-month remote L3 support engagement. The ideal candidate will provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational stability for enterprise scheduling environments running TWS version 9.1.0.02. This is a hands-on, production-facing role requiring immediate productivity with minimal ramp-up., * Provide L3 escalation support for production TWS 9.1.0.02 environments - handling complex job failures, agent connectivity issues, and scheduling anomalies

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews for critical batch failures and SLA breaches
  • Administer and troubleshoot the TWS master domain manager (MDM), fault-tolerant agents (FTA), and dynamic agents
  • Manage and tune job streams, job definitions, calendars, and dependencies in the TWS database
  • Monitor and resolve issues with the Dynamic Workload Console (DWC) and TWS job scheduling network
  • Support TWS integration with Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments
  • Collaborate with L1/L2 teams, infrastructure, and application owners for escalation resolution
  • Maintain and enforce SLA compliance across critical batch cycles
  • Document resolution procedures, runbooks, and known-error records in the ITSM system (e.g. ServiceNow)
  • Assist with patch assessment for TWS fix packs and compatibility validation

Requirements

Do you have experience in Ticketing system technical support?, * Hands-on experience with IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) / IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) - version 9.x strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with TWS components: MDM, BM, FTA, dynamic agents, job streams, and TWS composer
  • Experience with Dynamic Workload Console (DWC) for monitoring, reporting, and administration
  • Strong Unix/Linux administration skills (Red Hat, AIX, or Solaris preferred)
  • Shell scripting / Bash for job wrappers, automation, and diagnostic scripts
  • Familiarity with TWS database objects (job definitions, run cycles, calendars, workstations)
  • Working knowledge of ITSM tools - ServiceNow preferred - for incident and change management
  • Understanding of TWS security (users, resource pools, security file management)

Preferred / Nice to have

  • IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Tivoli Workload Scheduler certification
  • Experience with TWS z/OS connector or mainframe job scheduling integration
  • Familiarity with Splunk or similar log aggregation tools for TWS log analysis
  • Prior exposure to TWS REST API or TWS for Applications integrations
  • Experience supporting TWS in large-scale enterprise environments (1,000+ daily jobs)

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and stakeholder updates during incidents
  • Comfortable working within ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management processes
  • Able to participate in on-call rotation and respond to P1/P2 incidents outside business hours

$5,500 - $5,600 a month - Contract
