Staff Software Test Engineer

A growing medical device company developing connected diabetes-management technology is seeking a Staff Software Test Engineer. This individual will play a highly hands-on role testing mobile applications and their integration with connected medical devices, firmware, and cloud/server components. The engineer will own test cases and features from development through completion, perform both manual and automated testing, troubleshoot issues across the broader system, and collaborate closely with mobile, firmware, and server engineering teams. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong technical ownership, system-level thinking, and experience testing connected products within a regulated medical device environment.

• 10+ years of software testing/quality engineering experience with demonstrated senior or Staff-level technical ownership.

• Prior experience testing connected medical devices, including software/mobile applications that communicate with physical devices or embedded firmware.

• Strong hands-on mobile application testing experience across iOS and/or Android, ideally both.

• Experience with system and integration testing across mobile applications, connected hardware/firmware, and cloud or server components.

• Hands-on test automation experience using Appium and a programming language such as Java, Python, or C++.

• Ability to independently develop test cases, execute manual and automated testing, troubleshoot defects, gather test data, and drive testing activities through completion. * Experience testing CGM, insulin pump, or other diabetes-management products.

• Experience with both iOS and Android mobile application testing.

• Hands-on experience interacting with hardware/firmware, including firmware flashing, logs, debugging, or benchtop testing.

• Experience working with REST APIs, BLE-connected products, and regulated medical device testing/documentation practices.
