Job description
To match the signature style and passion of Target’s distinctive retail brand, Target Legal Affairs is a dynamic and deeply knowledgeable team of experts. Whether specializing in law, government affairs, employee relations, risk, compliance, ethics, security or food safety, we use our expertise and influence to advocate for Target, support Target’s business and mitigate risk for the company. We work with both internal and external entities on key issues that affect Target’s ability to productively, ethically and securely conduct business. Through our understanding of Target’s business models and operations, we help facilitate Target’s growth, and provide guidance that leaders rely on to make appropriate, well-informed decisions. Simultaneously, we help protect the business by applying our comprehensive understanding of risk and the law on issues that impact our brand, guests, team members, stores, distribution centers and corporate locations.
Here, you’ll enjoy working autonomously with a healthy work-life balance. Your passion for learning the business, collaborating with others and building relationships with senior leaders and key business partners that you support will be essential to tackling the ever-changing legal and risk-based challenges we face in a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment.
Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained, and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology, and design work.
As the Digital Trust Principal Product Manager, you will define and drive the product strategy for capabilities that strengthen trust between Target and the consumers we serve. You will lead the development of products and experiences that support responsible data practices, give consumers meaningful choice and transparency, and ensure personal information is managed with the care and accountability expected of a trusted retailer.
In this role, you will partner across legal, compliance, privacy, data, technology, and business teams to deliver solutions that advance Target’s digital trust agenda. Your work will include consent management, improving data governance and transparency, reducing unnecessary collection and retention of consumer data, and advancing Responsible AI practices. You will also lead the vision and execution of key trust-building experiences, including a Trust Center that gives consumers and stakeholders greater visibility into how Target protects data, governs technology, and uses artificial intelligence responsibly.
As a Principal Product Manager, you will work in the product model and lead the development of a comprehensive product strategy and key business objectives (OKRs) for your product domain. You will use your knowledge of the product, customer feedback, data and analytics, and other relevant insights to assess value, develop business cases, prioritize opportunities, and set the direction and desired outcomes for your product.
You will be the “voice of the product” to all outside stakeholders advocating for your product and ensuring their needs are met and that the product team is getting the leadership and support that it needs to be successful. You will need to cultivate strong relationships across the enterprise to drive collaboration and alignment with key partners and stakeholders across pyramids.
You will develop and actively maintain a product roadmap outlining prioritization for the customer themes, technical needs, and design challenges to be delivered and you will be accountable to make final decisions on scope and prioritization relative to the product backlog. You will be accountable to create and manage product objectives and key results, key metrics for your product, as well as related P&L impacts.
You will oversee progress against product backlogs to ensure work and priorities are in line with the product strategy while prioritizing themes, epics, and stories, to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with the product strategy.
