Job description

I’m currently supporting a search for a Senior AI Engineer to join an automotive AI team developing next-generation In-Cabin Monitoring Systems.

This is a 6-month contract, based in Brussels, with hybrid working available and remote considered for the right candidate.

The role is ideal for a hands-on AI/Computer Vision engineer who has experience taking models from R&D through to embedded automotive deployment and production.

What you’ll be working on

  • Developing advanced Computer Vision and Deep Learning solutions for automotive in-cabin applications
  • Working with CNNs, Transformers, Vision Transformers (ViT) and multimodal architectures
  • Building datasets, training pipelines and evaluation methodologies
  • Optimising AI models for embedded automotive SoCs and edge platforms
  • Applying techniques including quantisation, pruning, knowledge distillation and inference optimisation
  • Working with system architects, software engineers, sensor specialists and product teams
  • Supporting the development lifecycle from prototype through to production
  • Exploring synthetic data generation and self-supervised learning, Focus: Automotive AI / Computer Vision / In-Cabin Monitoring

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in AI/ML, ideally within automotive
  • Strong expertise in Computer Vision, Deep Learning,sing and Pattern Recognition
  • Strong Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow and OpenCV skills
  • Experience with object detection, segmentation, pose estimation, human activity recognition, face/eye tracking or 3D vision
  • Proven experience deploying AI models on embedded platforms
  • Automotive experience within an OEM, Tier 1/2, semiconductor or sensing company is essential

Experience with NVIDIA DRIVE, Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride, TI Jacinto, Renesas R-Car, NXP or Ambarella would be highly advantageous.

Knowledge of RGB/NIR/IR/ToF/depth sensing, ISO 26262, ASPICE or SOTIF would also be valuable.
