Requirements
- Experience in end-to-end software testing at scale on large, complex programs.
- Python coding experience.
- Experience using HP, IBM ALM/ETM, Doors, and JIRA.
- Familiarity with Scrum Agile mindset and methodologies for software development.
- ISTQB software testing certifications.
- Knowledge of Agile Scrum.
- Understanding of software logs and data analysis.
- Understanding of CI/CD software pipeline.
- Knowledge of software verification and validation, and technical requirements.
- Desirable: software testing in the defence industry.
- Desirable: simulation and emulator experience.
Benefits & conditions
We are recruiting 2 Software Test Engineer subcontractors for our Weapon Systems Simulation & Experimentation (WSSE) department, embedded within our Integration & Missile Validation (IMV) team. This is an initial 6-month contract based in Stevenage, with hybrid working of 3-4 days per week in the office to begin with, moving to 3 days on site and 2 days from home once up to speed. The role is inside IR35, pays £60.81 per hour, and is for 37 hours per week with overtime paid at time and a quarter. We work on real products, models, synthetic environments, and people throughout the systems life cycle, using agile methodologies to develop real-time software components that simulate complex weapon systems and sub-systems. This is a dynamic, fast-paced opportunity in our Digital Battlespace Facility, offering exposure to rapid mini-projects and longer-term projects across the product lifecycle, from concept demonstration and development through integration and customer training.
