Job description

The Desktop Engineer is responsible for providing level 1 and 2 technical support during the 3rd shift of a 24x7 onsite team. This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for desktop and laptop computers, supporting users via phone, email, and remote access tools, and working closely with IT staff and vendors to maintain and repair IT equipment. Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite level 1 and 2 support for desktop and laptop users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, LAN, server, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issues.
  • Support users via phone, email, and remote access tools.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to manage and track support requests.
  • Manage Windows Active Directory and Exchange environments.
  • Collaborate with IT staff on system maintenance and configuration projects.
  • Maintain accurate asset management records.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for repair and maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Support and troubleshoot printer systems.

Requirements

  • College degree and/or 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including DHCP, DNS, LAN, WAN.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues in large office environments.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of ITIL foundation processes (Incident, Request, Change management).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Experience with scripting languages.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), specifically Airwatch.

Benefits & conditions

  • Must be able to work onsite during the 3rd shift (12am-8am).
  • Work schedule includes Tuesday to Saturday, with some holiday shifts required.

Scheduling:

  • Onsite full-time contract role for 6 months with possible extension.
  • Shift pattern is Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM., + $59,537-68,468 per year
