Software Engineer (Prime)

This role gives you the chance to work on analytics that do more than process data. They help analysts surface patterns, behaviors, and connections that might otherwise stay buried. It is meaningful engineering work with real depth and real impact., * Design, develop, and enhance software supporting mission analytics across streaming and batch data environments.

• Build or improve capabilities that help analysts connect knowledge, behaviors, and scenarios across multiple SIGINT mediums.
• Integrate analytic services into larger mission products used by front-line analysts.
• Work with engineers, system stakeholders, and mission teams to translate analytic needs into usable software solutions.
• Troubleshoot defects, improve performance, and help ensure mission capabilities remain accurate, scalable, and reliable.
• Support software testing, validation, and documentation to keep capabilities production-ready.
• Contribute to the design of systems handling complex data flows, large data sets, and time-sensitive analytic outputs.

• Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances.

• Experience: 14 years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Additional Experience: 3 years of demonstrated cloud experience with distributed, scalable big data stores such as HBase, CloudBase or Accumulo, BigTable, or similar technologies. Experience with MapReduce tools such as Hadoop, Hive, or Pig. Experience with HDFS. Experience with serialization methods such as JSON or BSON., * Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems in mission-focused environments.
• Experience working with large data sets, analytic workflows, or processing-intensive applications.
• Ability to design and code new software or modify existing software to add features and improve performance.
• Experience debugging software issues and resolving defects in operational environments.
• Experience integrating software into new or modified systems and operating environments.
• Experience working with databases, repositories, or data-driven analytic systems.
• Ability to support software testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of development standards.
• Experience collaborating with system engineers, mission stakeholders, and multidisciplinary technical teams.

Desired Skills

• Experience supporting analytic development for streaming or batch data environments.
• Experience building capabilities tied to SIGINT, intelligence analysis, or data correlation use cases.
• Experience with cloud and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, HDFS, HBase, Accumulo, JSON, or BSON.
• Experience improving system performance, scalability, and reliability in data-heavy environments.
• Strong communication, debugging, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment and contribute across the full software lifecycle.
