Deliver clear feedback through pairing, design review, and code reviews.
-
Support on-call, incident response, and troubleshooting efforts for platform-level escalations.

Partner with teams by participating in technical discussions, writing technical documentation, and troubleshooting issues.
-
Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence (https://www.nytco.com/company/mission-and-values/) and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

Experience building centralized systems for internal engineering teams.
-
Familiarity with automation for code quality, release management, and developer workflow improvements.

-
Experience leading complex initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using client-side GraphQL tooling and applying GraphQL best practices, including data fetching, caching, error handling, and performance optimization.
-
Experience working on a platform team, building and supporting shared tools, frameworks, or services used by multiple product teams.
-
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and adopt evolving web standards and industry practices across frontend tooling, JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS.

Candidate Use of GenAI Tools:
We’re excited to learn more about you and your experience. To keep our hiring process as fair and authentic as possible, we ask that you submit your own work and not use GenAI tools to generate substantive content during the application and interview process.
