Job description

A growing pharma is seeking a Microsoft Entra Identity Governance Architect/Engineer to lead the design and implementation of Microsoft Entra ID Governance (Entitlement Management). This individual will architect and deploy a scalable access governance framework across SharePoint, enterprise applications, and security groups with a focus on automation, compliance, auditability, and least-privilege access. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Microsoft Entra ID Governance and Entitlement Management architecture.
  • Build and configure Catalogs, Access Packages, Access Reviews, Approval Workflows, Assignment Policies, and Lifecycle Governance.
  • Develop governance standards, naming conventions, ownership models, and access controls.
  • Create persona-based governance models for: o Employees o Contractors/Contingent Workers o External Partners/Vendors o Privileged Access Users

  • Configure self-service access requests, approval chains, expiration policies, and automated access reviews.
  • Leverage PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for automation, reporting, and governance workflows.
  • Collaborate with IAM, Security, IT, and business stakeholders on rollout and operational readiness.
  • Produce architecture documentation, runbooks, knowledge transfer materials, and governance metrics. Deliverables

  • Governance architecture and implementation roadmap.
  • Persona-based access governance framework.
  • Catalog and access package design for applications, SharePoint sites, and security groups.
  • Automated approval, expiration, and access review workflows.
  • Operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.

Payrate: $70-75

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Identity & Access Management (IAM) experience.
  • 5+ years of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience leading enterprise Microsoft Entra Identity Governance implementations from design through production deployment.
  • Deep expertise with: o Entitlement Management o Access Packages & Catalogs o Access Reviews o Lifecycle Governance o Approval Workflows o Microsoft Graph o PowerShell

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience integrating Entra Governance with ServiceNow or access request platforms.
  • Experience in regulated industries (Life Sciences, Healthcare, Pharma).
  • Knowledge of SOX, HIPAA, GxP, NIST, or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with AI-assisted or agentic governance solutions is a plus
