Job description

We are seeking hands-on Network Cutover Specialists to support a hospital network infrastructure conversion in Clarksville, TN. The team has already replaced most of the major network equipment and needs additional support to complete the remaining deployments, execute the final cutover, troubleshoot connectivity, and assist with post-cutover cleanup.

This is a short-term, fully onsite assignment involving physical network equipment, cabling, and work inside network closets. It is not a remote or desk-only engineering position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with network closet mapping and remaining switch deployments.
  • Work alongside onsite network engineers to complete cutover activities.
  • Physically move network and data connections from legacy switches to new switches.
  • Install, connect, and organize network equipment and cabling.
  • Verify switch ports, VLAN assignments, IP addressing, and device connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot Layer 1 and Layer 2 connectivity issues, with basic Layer 3 verification.
  • Identify and resolve issues involving cables, ports, VLANs, IP addresses, and DHCP.
  • Confirm connectivity for devices following the cutover.
  • Remove legacy equipment and organize network closets after implementation.
  • Communicate professionally with technical team members and hospital staff.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience installing, connecting, or replacing network switches and related equipment.
  • Experience working with network cabling, patch panels, data connections, or network closets.
  • Strong understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking fundamentals.
  • Basic Layer 3 troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Experience logging into and working with Cisco switches.
  • Knowledge of switch ports, VLANs, TCP/IP, IP addressing, and DHCP.
  • Ability to troubleshoot device connectivity following a switch or port change.
  • Willingness to perform physical, hands-on work and walk throughout a hospital facility.
  • Ability to follow direction and collaborate with an established onsite network team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous network cutover, hardware refresh, or site deployment experience.
  • Experience supporting a hospital or other high-availability environment.
  • CCNA, Network+, or a related networking certification.
  • Experience tracing, mapping, labeling, and organizing network connections.
