Cobol Developer

For our client, we are looking for a Cobol Developer to join their IT - Employee Benefits team. As a COBOL Developer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining both existing and new applications as part of the digital transformation within the organization. You will ensure the quality, usability, and performance of the integrated systems. Responsibilities Maintain existing programs or develop, enhance, and test new programs based on business needs and requirements. Prepare technical analyses that ensure optimal system integration. Support the IT team in setting up the user acceptance testing (UAT) environment and assist end users during testing while monitoring the results. Support the implementation process and act as the technical point of contact for end users. Ensure the continuity of applications and proactively suggest improvements. Profile

You hold a higher education degree in IT with experience in COBOL, or you have extensive relevant experience without a degree. You have an excellent command of Dutch and English ; knowledge of French is an asset. You have several years of experience in the insurance sector. You have strong knowledge of COBOL and experience developing applications on COBOL/mainframe environments. Experience preparing technical analyses, preferably using UML. Experience with Jira. Experience working in Agile teams. Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD). Knowledge of another programming language, such as MuleSoft or Java, is considered an advantage.
