Job description
As SAP Project Manager, you are the central steering force in SAP transformation projects. You bring end-to-end program management expertise - from project setup and governance through rollout planning, cutover management, and hypercare. You serve as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders, and you know how to keep complex, multi-workstream SAP programs on track, on budget, and on scope, even in politically challenging environments., * Own overall program and project management for SAP transformation engagements (S/4HANA rollouts, system consolidations, RISE migrations), including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies
- Design and implement fit-for-purpose governance models and PMO structures; establish steering committee cadences, escalation paths, and reporting frameworks for C-level stakeholders
- Lead rollout planning and coordination across multiple countries, business units, and workstreams (functional, technical, change management, data migration)
- Plan and execute cutover management: cutover strategy, go/no-go decision frameworks, mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, and live cutover command
- Manage program-level risks, issues, and interdependencies; proactively identify deviations and drive corrective actions
- Coordinate system integrators, software vendors, and internal IT teams; manage and challenge external service providers in complex multi-vendor environments
- Oversee hypercare phases post go-live:stabilisation planning, ticket management, SLA monitoring, and transition to operations
- Develop and maintain project plans, milestone tracking, and status reporting; prepare and present decision papers and program reviews for executive audiences
- Contribute to business development: support proposal development, effort estimations, and acquisition activities
Requirements
You are a natural program leader who combines methodological rigour with pragmatic delivery instinct. You stay calm under pressure, keep complex stakeholder landscapes aligned, and never lose sight of the overall goal. Beyond your project management expertise, you bring the following:
- Strong affinity for SAP technology topics and digital transformation in complex enterprise environments
- 3-6 years of experience in management or IT consulting, including proventrack record leading complex S/4HANA transformation or rollout programs
- Deep expertise in multi-country rollout management, cutover management, go-live planning, and hypercare for SAP implementations
- Strong understanding of SAP implementation methodology(SAP Activate, agile, hybrid)
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP) is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM/Solution Manager, SAP Signavio and/or SAP LeanIX from a program governance perspective is a plus
- Excellent academic background (Master’sdegree, MBA, or equivalent); business administration, industrial engineering, or business informatics preferred
- Strategic mindset with a strong understanding of core commercial processes (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, HR) and how they interact in SAP transformations
- Proven knowledge of consulting methods and structured problem-solving; experience with both traditional and agile project management approaches
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; confident presenter at executive and steering committee level
- Entrepreneurial mindset with high initiative and a genuine willingness to take ownership and responsibility
- Willingness to travel (predominantly withinthe DACH region); approx. 60-80%
- Business fluent in German and English
