Job description
Plan, organize and manage proposals, technical information, orders and customer communications for the information technology (IT) cooling business. Serve as primary contact between customer and Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) from proposal process through delivery of equipment and transition to Service Management. This position must sit in Freedom, PA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review RFQ information and collaborate with customers, vendors and internal departments to prepare quotations that include specification compliance, pricing, Bill of Materials, cost of ownership documentation, drawings, scope of works and procedures.
- Develop, maintain and monitor project plans specifying goals, scheduling, resource allocation, risk identification and contingency plans. Ensure customer commitments are met and project costs remain within budget.
- Provide technical application engineering support for internal and external customers.
- Provide technical support to other departments for onsite services as needed.
- Independently represent MEPPI in technical meetings, site walkthroughs, seminars and presentations to promote IT cooling products.
- Track and communicate project status, technical requirements and customer information. Ensure order and customer documentation is stored and transferred according to the MEPPI quality system.
- Identify and recommend proper application of products for customer solutions.
- Create, present and review electrical, schematic, system and mechanical drawings.
- Develop written and verbal communications to describe and promote IT cooling products.
- Work with management team and internal departments to identify and minimize MEPPI risk and exposure on customer and vendor orders.
- Work with internal departments to evaluate and mitigate order costs.
- Oversee factory witness tests, create and manage agenda, and perform lead role in customer communication.
- Identify and suggest cost improvements and new product opportunities.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of CPSD by conducting business with other MEPPI departments, visitors, and callers in a timely and cooperative manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 3-5 years of experience with applications engineering and/or outside technical sales experience in IT cooling, or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of direct expansion and variable refrigerant flow cooling systems, chiller systems and indoor computer room air conditioning (CRAC) and computer room air handling (CRAH) units.
- Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings and material.
- Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, employees and suppliers.
- Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office products, CAD software and ERP business systems.
