Requirements

Technical Team Lead - Enterprise AI

Fully Remote | UK or Europe

100k - 120k euros

Fully remote within the UK, EU, Norway or Switzerland. You must be based within approximately two hours of Central European Time.

We are partnering with a fast-growing enterprise AI business that is building safe, scalable AI systems for some of the world's largest organisations.

They are looking for a hands-on Technical Team Lead to lead and develop a small, highly skilled team of backend and AI engineers. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership with people development while shaping production-grade agentic AI systems, backend services and multi-agent communication layers.

You will:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a remote engineering team.
  • Own architectural decisions across scalable, asynchronous Python systems.
  • Remain hands-on across critical backend services, APIs and AI orchestration.
  • Translate complex business requirements into practical technical roadmaps.
  • Establish strong engineering standards across testing, security, documentation and code quality.
  • Remove delivery blockers and create a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure systems meet enterprise requirements for performance, reliability and compliance.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience technically leading a team of at least three engineers.
  • Strong Python or Node.js backend engineering expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of asynchronous programming and distributed systems.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka, RabbitMQ or Redis Streams.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  • The ability to balance hands-on engineering with leadership, mentoring and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills within distributed, remote-first teams.

Experience with multi-agent systems, AI orchestration, generative AI, RAG or cloud-native infrastructure would be particularly valuable.

This is a genuinely influential role within an ambitious AI business moving beyond experimentation to deliver secure, reliable and production-ready enterprise AI.
