Job description

First Coast Tech is seeking a skilled and motivated Computer Repair Technician to join our growing repair team. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing and repairing computers, laptops, mobile devices, and consumer electronics while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and repair quality.

This position involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing component-level repairs, documenting work performed, and ensuring every device is thoroughly tested before being returned to the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair Windows and macOS computers
  • Perform laptop repairs including screens, keyboards, batteries, charging ports, hinges, and other hardware components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues including Windows installation, malware removal, data migration, and performance optimization
  • Perform repairs on smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles, and other consumer electronics as assigned
  • Conduct thorough pre-repair and post-repair testing to verify functionality
  • Document repair findings, parts used, and work completed within the ticketing system
  • Maintain a clean and organized workbench and repair area
  • Communicate repair status and technical findings clearly to management and staff
  • Assist with inventory organization and parts management
  • Stay current on evolving repair techniques, devices, and industry trends

Requirements

Do you have experience in macOS?, * Experience repairing desktop and laptop computers

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and common software issues
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble electronic devices safely
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple repairs simultaneously
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MacBook and iMac repairs
  • Experience with smartphone and tablet repairs
  • Experience with soldering and microsoldering
  • Experience with data recovery procedures
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience
  • Retail repair shop experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform fine motor work on small electronic components
