Job description
Kforce has a client that is seeking an MQ/API Developer in Warrendale, PA., We are seeking an MQ/API Developer to support a mission-critical messaging environment that enables trading operations. This role will provide hands-on administration, integration support, automation, and modernization expertise while helping reduce reliance on a single MQ subject matter expert. The consultant will work closely with infrastructure, application, and technology teams to enhance platform stability, resiliency, and operational support., * Administer and support IBM MQ production environments
- Design, maintain, and troubleshoot MQ integrations and messaging services
- Develop automation solutions using PowerShell or Python
- Support API development and integration initiatives
- Partner with application and infrastructure teams on connectivity, performance, and reliability improvements
- Provide production support and incident resolution for critical messaging systems
- Assist with platform modernization, upgrades, and migration efforts
Current Initiatives:
- Migrate IBM MQ environments to Windows Server 2025
- Upgrade IBM MQ to version 9.4
- Build a highly available architecture featuring primary and failover environments
- Support long-term MQ platform strategy and roadmap initiatives
Requirements
- Strong IBM MQ Administration experience
- Experience with middleware technologies
- API development and integration experience
- MQ Integration and enterprise messaging expertise
- PowerShell or Python scripting skills
- Strong troubleshooting and production support background
Preferred Qualifications:
- MQ Clustering and Pub/Sub experience
- .NET/C# development experience
- Microsoft Azure and API Management experience
- Experience supporting highly available enterprise messaging platforms
- SQL knowledge
- React development, * Hands-on IBM MQ Engineer with integration experience
- Experienced in automation and operational efficiency initiatives
- Experience with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects
- Knowledgeable in messaging architecture and API technologies
- Comfortable supporting mission-critical production systems
- Effective at collaborating with stakeholders, gathering requirements, and improving platform reliability

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
