Job description

This position is located at our client site in Pittsburgh, PA. However a hybrid working situation is acceptable., We are seeking a skilled IBM MQ Administrator / Integration Engineer with experience in React application development to support and enhance enterprise messaging and integration platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in IBM MQ administration, integration technologies, scripting automation, and front-end development. This role will be responsible for maintaining messaging infrastructure, supporting application integrations, automating operational processes, and contributing to the development of modern web-based solutions.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. IBM MQ Administration & Support

. Configure, administer, and maintain IBM MQ environments across development, test, and production platforms.

. Monitor and manage MQ queue managers, channels, queues, listeners, and related messaging components.

. Troubleshoot and resolve MQ performance, connectivity, and operational issues.

. Perform MQ upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning activities.

. Implement and maintain MQ security, including authentication, authorization, and SSL/TLS configurations.

Integration Services

. Design, implement, and support enterprise integration solutions utilizing IBM MQ.

. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver reliable messaging solutions.

. Support message flow design, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.

. Ensure seamless integration between enterprise systems and applications.

Application Development

. Develop and maintain web applications and user interfaces using React.

. Partner with backend and integration teams to create efficient, scalable solutions.

. Implement responsive user interfaces and integrate APIs and messaging services.

. Participate in application design reviews and code quality initiatives.

Automation & Scripting

. Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Python.

. Automate monitoring, reporting, deployment, and administrative tasks.

. Develop tools and utilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Operational Excellence

. Participate in production support, incident management, and root cause analysis activities.

. Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.

. Ensure compliance with organizational security, governance, and change management standards.

. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

. 5+ years of experience administering and supporting IBM MQ environments.

. Strong experience with IBM MQ Administration and middleware support.

. Proven experience implementing and supporting IBM MQ Integrations.

. Hands on expertise with PowerShell and/or Python scripting.

. Experience developing modern web applications using React.

. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.

. Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments.

. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

. Experience with IBM MQ Clustering architecture and administration.

. Experience implementing and supporting IBM MQ Publish/Subscribe messaging models.

. Knowledge of SQL and relational database technologies.

. Experience with .NET C# development.

. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and integration technologies.

. Understanding of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

. Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions for enterprise messaging platforms., * IBM MQ

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $62,900.00 $139,300.00.
