Job description

Riverside Feeders, a multi-entity cattle-feeding operation in eastern Oregon, is hiring a Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics - a senior, hands-on data role at the center of the business, reporting directly to the CEO.

This role will lead the build and implementation of our central cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or a comparable platform) and the integrations linking our cattle-management, hedging, accounting, and operating systems - building it yourself, with consulting support where needed - then maintain and improve the platform and use Power BI or a comparable tool to create the automated dashboards and reporting the company runs on: an auto-generated borrowing base, real-time cattle positions and valuations, and a live budget and cash-flow model.

Beyond the build, this position will run the financial and performance analytics behind all of our business operations and bring efficiency and optimization ideas directly to the CEO - proposed savings, operational changes, and trials, backed by the numbers. Responsibilities will also include running the analytics behind our cattle marketing and price-risk management, with a clear path to broader financial oversight., * Build and own the cloud data warehouse and the pipelines feeding it

  • Create automated dashboards and reporting in Power BI, Tableau, or a comparable BI platform - borrowing base, cattle positions, valuations, budget and cash flow
  • Apply AI tools to accelerate development and analysis, while keeping recurring financial reporting on governed, auditable pipelines
  • Run financial and performance analytics across all business operations - feedlot, trucking, farm, and finance
  • Bring efficiency and optimization ideas to the CEO: proposed savings, operational changes, and trials, quantified before and after
  • Build analytics across cattle performance, feed costs, break evens, and farm metrics
  • Track cattle contracts against commitments; reconcile positions to inventory and hedges
  • Execute and track price-risk management under CEO direction

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in data analytics, financial analysis, and/or risk management
  • Advanced SQL and strong BI skills - Power BI preferred; Tableau, Looker, Qlik, or similar considered
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric/Azure, Big Query, or similar); DAX or Python a plus
  • In-depth experience using AI tools (Claude, Copilot, or similar) to accelerate analysis, development, and automation
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience or relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst, DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer, SnowPro, or comparable) considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in Agricultural or commodities is desired but not required
