Job description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design and build advanced applications for next-generation satellite ground infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a diverse team of architects and engineers within an Agile framework to deliver high-impact solutions. The position offers a unique opportunity to master sophisticated technologies, including multi-tiered system architectures, cloud-based web services, and microservices design patterns. Additionally, you will gain deep expertise in modern DevSecOps methodologies, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and the specific software development lifecycles required for defense sector projects. Responsibilities

Engineer robust software solutions tailored for cutting-edge satellite ground control systems.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams of engineers, architects, and leadership to drive project success.
Implement and maintain modern software development practices, including continuous integration and delivery workflows.
Apply security-focused development strategies (DevSecOps) throughout the software lifecycle.
Utilize advanced architectural patterns, such as microservices and multi-tiered designs, to build scalable systems.

Requirements

Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field, combined with at least five years of professional experience.
Demonstrate proven expertise in designing and developing object-oriented applications using Java.
Show strong proficiency in managing concurrent processes and Java multithreading.
Hold an active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance prior to employment; a transferable Top Secret clearance is also acceptable.
Be a U.S. citizen, as this is a mandatory requirement to qualify for the necessary security clearances., * Background in developing software for satellite mission planning and scheduling.
Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for software development.
Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages.
Hands-on experience with AWS microservices, containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience implementing test automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
Working knowledge of industry tools including Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, JUnit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.
