Software Engineer 5

Legion Technical Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support a cutting-edge national security program developing next-generation satellite ground systems. If you’re passionate about building mission-critical software that supports space and defense missions, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact while working alongside some of the industry’s top engineering talent. What You’ll Do Design, develop, test, and maintain advanced Java software supporting satellite ground systems. Build scalable, high-performance applications using object-oriented design principles. Develop software for mission planning, scheduling, and command-and-control capabilities. Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and architects in an Agile development environment. Contribute to modern cloud-native architectures utilizing AWS, microservices, and containerized applications. Support DevSecOps initiatives, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another STEM discipline. 8+ years of professional software development experience. Strong object-oriented Java development experience. Experience with Java multithreading and concurrent programming. Experience developing planning, scheduling, or other complex enterprise software systems.

• Active TS/SCI security clearance (or active Top Secret clearance eligible for TS/SCI crossover). U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting satellite, space, or ground system programs. AWS cloud and microservices architecture. Docker and Kubernetes. DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines. Spring Boot, Kafka, Jenkins, JUnit, Jira, Confluence, and Eclipse. SAFe Agile development experience.
