Job description

The Business Analytics Specialist provides business intelligence support to UNC Health Care’s statewide clinically integrated network. This role delivers data-driven insights and enables HR teams to act as change agents by leveraging actionable information to drive improvement, efficiency, and best practices., 1. Builds strong consultative relationships with HR and business leaders, establishing value as a trusted Workforce Analytics partner. Serves as a data insights advisor by developing data models that generate workforce and organizational insights to inform short- and long-term talent strategies. Acts as a liaison between HR stakeholders and ISD. Synthesizes data from multiple internal and external sources (e.g., HRIS, engagement, and labor data) to support actionable workforce decisions. Ensures the highest level of data integrity, governance, and security across UNC Health Care’s Workforce Analytics and business intelligence portfolio. Supports requests from intake through delivery, including presenting and defending insights and recommendations.

  1. Demonstrates efficient project management to clearly define projects, develop project plans, and set priorities for working teams.
  2. Defines People Analytics reporting requirements and partners with ISD development teams to implement scalable solutions. Manages ad hoc HR reporting requests, ensuring they are captured, prioritized, and, where possible, transformed into standardized, automated dashboards and reports. Continuously improves reporting delivery, accessibility, and usability while maintaining consistent output standards.
  3. Translates workforce-related business questions into actionable analytics, including scorecards, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau and SAP BO. Delivers clear data storytelling to support HR initiatives such as talent acquisition, retention, performance, and workforce planning. Leads the development of key performance indicators, executive dashboards, and balanced scorecards to enhance workforce insights and drive data-informed decision-making.
  4. Supports and enhances the implementation and ongoing optimization of Visier. Partners with HR leaders to leverage Visier’s capabilities for predictive analytics, workforce planning, and scenario modeling. Develops and maintains Visier dashboards, metrics, and data models, while driving user adoption and enabling HR stakeholders to effectively utilize insights for strategic decision-making.

Requirements

? Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

? No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements:

? Three (3) years of experience performing analytics.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

? Strong analytical and problem solving skills along with ability to work with large, disparate data sets, performing data mining, validation and analysis to trend and interpret information. Excellent communication skills and able to interpret and tell the story of the data. Experience managing multiple and competing tasks/priorities with delivery deadlines in fast paced, complex environment. Great attention to detail and accuracy and must maintain excellent communications with customers especially with regard to data and information request and status. Proven experience distilling, breaking down and communicating complex data and information into insights that drive decisive action for nontechnical audiences. Demonstrated use of Business Objects, Excel, Access and PowerPoint are critical. Candidates must demonstrate all required qualifications.
