Job description

Do you get energy from tackling tough mechanics challenges that improve safety and reliability? Step into a role where your analysis helps extend the life of nuclear power plants and supports Westinghouse’s clean energy mission. Your Impact Reporting to the Manager, Reactor Vessel and Containment Vessel Design & Analysis, you will contribute to fatigue aging management initiatives. This hybrid position is based at Westinghouse Headquarters in Cranberry, PA (Greater Pittsburgh Area) with 2 in-office days per week. How You’ll Contribute

  • Execute and document ASME Section III and Section XI analyses with a collaborative engineering team.
  • Create ASME design specifications and design reports; prepare design and assembly drawings to transition designs into production.
  • Interface with suppliers during manufacturing and assembly to uphold design intent and quality.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to support design, qualification, fabrication, and installation of nuclear components.
  • Present technical conclusions and project updates to peer audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong technical writing for calculation notes and topical report authorship/verification.
  • Ability to interpret technical reports and collaborate effectively on technical questions.
  • Working toward a professional engineering license.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Ansys Workbench / APDL, MATLAB, and Mathcad.

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
