AI Engineer

Kforce has a client in Draper, UT that is seeking a senior-level AI Engineer to help build and accelerate AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who uses modern AI development tools to move quickly, improve efficiency, and challenge traditional approaches to software development. This role is approximately 80% AI Engineering and 20% Data Science, with Data Science experience considered a nice-to-have rather than a requirement.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree highly preferred
• Senior-level software/AI engineering experience
• Strong Python and SQL development skills
• Hands-on experience with Claude and/or Cursor for AI-assisted software development
• Demonstrated history of using AI/developer-assist tools to create efficiencies, automate work, improve productivity, and accelerate development
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
• Experience building AI-powered applications and solutions
• Comfortable with AI-assisted/”vibe coding” and using AI as an integral part of their development workflow
• Highly hands-on and willing to write code-not simply manage or architect from a distance, * Data Science experience, including experience applying data analysis, modeling, or machine learning techniques
• Experience with additional AI/LLM development tools and frameworks
• Experience working with modern cloud and software engineering technologies
• Experience identifying opportunities to automate or streamline development processes, * Fast-moving and highly efficient - finds ways to get things done rather than getting stuck in process
• Passionate about technology and AI and genuinely interested in finding better ways to build
• Experiment-oriented - willing to try things, learn quickly, and iterate
• Challenges the status quo and asks, “Why can’t we do this?”
• Proactive and resourceful - sees an opportunity and pushes it forward
• Comfortable operating in an environment where priorities and approaches can evolve quickly
• Uses AI tools to dramatically increase personal productivity and development velocity

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
