Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Android Full-Stack / Platform Engineer to join the Platform Stability team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across the Android stack, including AOSP, Android Framework, system_server, native C++, Kotlin, Java, middleware, and vendor layers. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving complex Android platform stability issues, reverse-engineering problems from AOSP source code, and providing technical direction for difficult or ambiguous issues. Must-Have Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on Android Platform/Framework development
  • Strong Kotlin, C++, and Java experience
  • Hands-on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) development and source-code debugging
  • Strong experience with Android Framework / system_server
  • Experience with:

  • Activity Manager
  • Window Manager
  • Package Manager
  • SurfaceFlinger
  • Experience developing Android middleware and background/foreground services
  • Strong knowledge of AIDL / Binder IPC
  • Experience troubleshooting:

  • ANR / Application Not Responding
  • Boot failures
  • Black-screen issues
  • Android platform stability problems
  • Experience working across framework, native, and vendor layers
  • Experience with HAL / Hardware Abstraction Layer
  • Ability to modify and debug native Android components using C++
  • Experience resolving Android upgrade/integration issues

Preferred Skills

  • Android Automotive OS (AAOS)
  • Car Service / CarService
  • CTS, VTS, ATS, and STS
  • Android graphics/display stack
  • GDB / LLDB
  • Perfetto / Systrace
  • Logcat analysis
  • Android Soong / Make build systems
  • Android partition architecture
  • Experience working with SoC/silicon vendors
  • Automotive or embedded Android experience, Required: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred: Master’s Degree Ideal Candidate Profile The strongest candidates will be deep Android platform engineers, not application-level Android developers. Look for candidates with hands-on AOSP + system_server + C++ native components + Kotlin/Java framework development, particularly those who have debugged Android platform stability issues and worked below the Treble boundary. AAOS/automotive experience is a strong plus but is not mandatory.
