Job description

Excellent research needs state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative digital services. With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign the Institute’s digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute’s rapid growth. As part of our strategy, we are contiuously improving our services, modernizing our service portfolio and introducing a new low-code process automation platform for implementing workflows to support core administrative processes. As part of our software development team, you will participate in designing, implementing, and operating software solutions, and integrating these services with other applications at ISTA. Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing software in various programming languages, including full-stack applications, adaptation of existing software packages, and development of middleware and API-based solutions
  • Designing and implementing applications on the process automation platform Appian
  • Deploying and operating developed software solutions including initial setup, updates and refactoring, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Defining technical specifications based on business requirements
  • Providing 2nd and 3rd-level support for the developed applications
  • Providing technical and end-user documentation

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, software engineering or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Programming experience with a scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Javascript)
  • Experience with microservices-based web architectures and service integration via REST APIs
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms like Appian is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and creative approach to solving complex, non-standard technical problems
  • Ability to work independently, with a passion for learning new technologies
  • High degree of focus and accuracy, also when working on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Reliable team-player with good communication skills
  • Working language is English, good working knowledge in German is an advantage

Full Time (40 h/w)

Klosterneuburg near Vienna, Austria / Home Office possible

EUR 3,765 gross/month. Leave replacement - limited to 31.12. 2027
