Mid-level M&S Systems Engineer

ClearanceJobs is assisting our Colorado Springs based client with their search for a Mid-level M&S Systems Engineer. This is an onsite position that will split time between Schriever Space Force Base and a nearby office location in Colorado Springs, CO. An active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with access to SCI is required., * Support capability elicitation and derivation of requirements to realize requested development.

• Collaborate in defining and developing processes and procedures.
• Research and gain experience with missile defense concepts, space-based sensor phenomenology, and threat model trajectories.
• Work in close coordination with senior engineers to develop systems engineering artifacts supporting development and testing.
• Participate in the development and update of technical documentation, system requirements, and user guides for simulation tools.
• Provide briefings to customer(s) and stakeholder(s) related to technical solutions, process development and updates, and system engineering artifacts.
• Support training and orientation of simulation tools.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master’s Degree in STEM with 3 years of related work experience, or a PhD in STEM with 1 year of related work experience.
• Active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with access to SCI.
• Practical experience executing or analyzing results from military modeling and simulation (M&S) frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, scripting, or automation using Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Strong understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of executing technical tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) ground test, flight test, or wargaming events.
• Familiarity with missile defense concepts, space-based tracking/sensors, or orbital mechanics
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• A current active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with access to SCI (TS/SCI).
