Job description

The Information Technology (IT) Specialist will provide on-site ASG-J installation IT support, administration, and maintenance for secure and non-secure networks and Command and Control (C2) systems. The position will support users and systems across ASG-J installations within Jordan and assist with Information Assurance, cybersecurity, network, workstation, and operational IT requirements in accordance with applicable DoD policies and technical standards.

WhatYou’ll Do:

  • Provide installation-level IT support, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance for ASG-J users and systems.
  • Support secure and non-secure local area network environments, including NIPR and SIPR systems, as authorized.
  • Support Command and Control (C2) systems and associated user, workstation, peripheral, and connectivity requirements.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, account, authentication, and user-access issues.
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain, and document applicable workstations, peripherals, network devices, and IT systems within assigned permissions.
  • Support Information Assurance (IA), cybersecurity, vulnerability-management, and system-compliance activities.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of applicable DoD cybersecurity controls, technical directives, and configuration requirements.
  • Coordinate account creation, modification, access, and troubleshooting with Government network and cybersecurity personnel.
  • Maintain required system, configuration, inventory, trouble-ticket, and support documentation.
  • Escalate network, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or enterprise-level issues to the appropriate Government support organization.
  • Support approved software installation, patching, updates, imaging, and configuration activities as authorized.
  • Provide technical assistance and customer support to military, civilian, and contractor users.
  • Coordinate with Government communications, network, cybersecurity, and C2 stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide IT support across ASG-J installations within Jordan as mission requirements dictate.
  • Protect sensitive information and comply with applicable DoD cybersecurity, acceptable-use, and information-protection requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field; substantial relevant DoD IT experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant IT support, systems administration, network support, cybersecurity, or related technical experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT environments, networks, systems, workstations, and end users.
  • Experience supporting DoD or military IT environments, or comparable secure enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting, Microsoft Windows environments, user accounts, hardware, software, and peripheral support.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and Information Assurance principles applicable to enterprise IT operations.
  • Ability to document technical issues, corrective actions, configurations, and support activities.
  • Strong customer service, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and applicable privileged/system access.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any DoD cybersecurity workforce certification required for assigned duties and access level.
  • Ability to meet and sustain all applicable medical, deployment, and theater-entry requirements for Jordan.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy.

Preferred qualifications

  • Current Secret clearance.
  • Previous experience supporting NIPR, SIPR, or other DoD enterprise network environments.
  • Experience supporting military Command and Control (C2) systems.
  • Current DoD 8140/8570-aligned cybersecurity certification appropriate to the assigned duties, such as Security+ or higher, if required by the Government.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft enterprise environments, endpoint support, network troubleshooting, and DoD trouble-ticket processes.
  • Experience supporting deployed, OCONUS, or CENTCOM IT operations.
  • Prior experience in Jordan or another overseas U.S. military environment.

Security Requirements

ASG-J has not yet specified a formal clearance level or certification baseline for this position. Because the validated scope includes NIPR/SIPR and C2 support, initial recruiting should target candidates who currently possess, or are eligible to obtain and maintain, at least a Secret clearance and who can satisfy applicable DoD cybersecurity workforce requirements. Final clearance, certification, privileged-access, and system-access requirements will be aligned to the executed contract modification.

Work Environment

This position is anticipated to be full-time and on-site in Jordan, Monday through Friday, eight hours per day. The employee must satisfy applicable U.S. Government, host-nation, installation-access, medical, credentialing, deployment, and theater-entry requirements associated with performance in Jordan.
