Job description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Tier II Network Technician to support the customer’s computer data communications systems, in providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as, analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.\n \n \nThe job duties of the Tier II Network Technician are as follows:\n \u2022 The Tier II network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.\n \u2022 Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team.\n \u2022 Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).\n \u2022 Draft and implement standard network change requests.\n \u2022 Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).\n \u2022 Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.\n \u2022 Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process).\n \u2022 Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).\n

Requirements

u2022 Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs.\n \u2022 Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)\n \u2022 Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s, Port Security, Thin Configs). \n \u2022 Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS. \n \u2022 Experience with Visio.\n \u2022 Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence.\n \u2022 May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.\n \n, u2022 Required Clearance; TS/SCI CI\n \u2022 Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years. \n \u2022 Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.\n \u2022 Available to travel up to 20% of the time.\n \u2022 Available to work flexible hours, to include weekend support.\n \u2022 Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.\n
